Hazmat Security Awareness Training Kit Security awareness training is required by 172.704(a)(4) as a component of hazardous materials training for every hazmat employee. (In some cases, security plans and in-depth security training are also required.) Current employees must receive awareness training at their first scheduled recurrent training session while new employees must receive it within 90 days of their hire date.
This kit provides you with the tools you need to conduct and document solid security awareness training. At the core of the kit is a fast-paced, 20-minute video that addresses the many security issues associated with hazardous materials transportation, including how to recognize and respond to possible security threats. It also discusses employee background checks and how employees can contribute to facility security.
Accompanying the video are 11 employee handbooks with more detailed information and a quiz to test understanding of the material as well as a discussion guide with training tips, “what if” scenarios, and learning activities.
DVD bonus material includes: main menu, chapter selections, sound-bite commentary from industry professionals, and a 10-question quiz with video “remediation”. When participants answer correctly, confirmation is accompanied by additional information on the topic. For an incorrect response, that information is followed by previously shown material that illustrates the correct answer.
